I would like to thank Elegy for all of their help. I came across their site when I was looking for an Marriage Agency that I would feel comfortable with. The Elegy web site appealed to me because they didn't seem to be after my money like many other Marriage Agencies out there. I was attracted to the idea of having one free e-mail to
a foreign lady and that proved to be the best decision I have made in my social life
so far.

After looking through many profiles, one particular woman caught my eye. I took the chance and e-mailed her. I quickly forgot about it as I continued to look for other women (as many agencies suggest you do). One week later I received an e-mail and I was so stunned that I had to look back in my notes to remember WHO she was.

Her letter was elegant and refreshing to me. I was thankful that Elegy was so proficient because I had read about the notoriously poor mail system in Russia. I signed up for Elegy's 10 e-mails for $100 and e-mailed her back a 2nd letter. Elegy has made this process so seemless that I quickly dropped the other Marriage Agencies I was still looking at.

To make a long and wonderful story short, I only e-mailed this one lady the entire time. I visitied her recently and we are engaged. I am starting the K-1 Fiancee Visa process to try and bring her over to the U.S.

I want to thank Elegy because they helped me every step of the way. When I decided to visit her, they secured a Business Visa for me and booked my Hotel in the Russian city. People on the Internet have described Russian hotels as being poor, especially the farther you get away from the major cities. I have to say that Elegy set me up with an incredible hotel in a city of 300,000 that was way beyond my expectations. Elegy also did an outstanding job patiently answering all of my nagging questions as I have never been overseas before. Most often, they reply to your e-mails within hours and, at most, a couple of days.

In closing, I would like to thank Elegy for giving me the opportunity to meet the person that I can spend the rest of my life with in happiness.

I would like to say that I found Elegy by accident when I first joined the Internet in February 1998. I am now very glad that I did.

I find the page layout very easy to use and the "NEW ARRIVALS" on page 1 is very useful. The electronic mailer is fast and easy to use, the addition of an attachments facility would make it even better. The customer services I have used several times and this has been very prompt ( depending on time I sent a letter , the reply came back within an hour). The answer was always positive as well.

I am currently writing to two ladies and hopefully visiting one of them in the summer,
I do not know what will happen after that but I will recommend to anyone interested 
in meeting  ladies from the former USSR. the services of ELEGY.

This a true story. My name is Tatiana, on 27th March 1998 I placed my photograph on the internet using the Taganrog offices of the Elegy agency. Having been shown the thousands of other ladies in my position I was not too hopeful of meeting anyone.
After just two weeks I received a letter from a man in England. The man sounded very nice and I took the letter home to think about a reply. Over the next week I wrote a number of replies which I kept changing, I did not like the contents. Eventually I decided on the reply. I went back to the local office to find several other men had written to me from America and Europe. I sent the reply anyway and took the new letters home to read . Some of the men did not interest me, we had very little in common. I did write to one man from America. And so began the start of a lot of correspondence between Taganrog and England and America. After lots of letters from Christopher, who lives in England, I thought he sounded the person I wanted to meet. He asked if he could come and visit me. I was delighted but suggested we meet in
St. Petersburg as has so much interest and places to see. He arranged everything with the help of Elegy and I met Christopher and St Petersburg airport on 1st August 1998. The first few minutes were very 'interesting'. I spoke very little English and Christopher spoke no Russian. However with the help of Elegy he had arranged for a translator/guide, called Irena to help us during our stay. Irena was absolutely brilliant. She helped us to work together on getting to know each other, to find out about each other and to bring us close together. I knew that Christopher was the man I wanted to be with but did he like me? After a week he said to me that he had arranged for us to go out to a special restaurant the next evening as it would be our last free evening together. After we had finished our meal he leaned over the table and in Russian he asked me to marry him.
My dreams had come true. The next day we went shopping and he bought me a wonderful engagement ring. My mother was very sceptical about meeting anyone respectable using a 'dating agency' but when I returned home and showed her the photos, the ring and some presents from England she began to change her mind. After this we wrote to each other every week using the Elegy agency as well as the ordinary mail. We met in Moscow a couple of times whilst Christopher arranged for me to get a visa to enter England. On the 21st November 1998 we both flew from Moscow to England to start a new life together. Which has culminated on the 20th March 1999 in us getting married in England. We are both very very happy together. We would both like to thank the Taganrog office for all the help they gave us during our correspondence. We would also like to thank the American offices of Elegy, especially Oleg. His assistance, his help with the initial travel arrangements and subsequent problems were invaluable. Nothing ever seemed to be too much trouble. Without Elegy we would never have met. To all at Elegy a big 'THANK YOU'

They call it the Venice of the north, but really there is no comparison. St. Petersburg is indeed a jewel of a city, despite the well publicised infrastructure problems. There is so much to see and do, and it is an ideal introduction to Russia. I have neve been made more welcome in a foreign land, almost to the extent that I could happily live there. The official brusqueness is easily broken down, with a smile or a joke, and the Russian sense of humour is very compatible with mine.

The support provided by the "Joy" agency (office of Elegy in SPb) is very good indeed.
I visited the office and was made most welcome by a friendly and enthusiastic team.

We stayed in the hotel Mercury. The accomodation, although basic was clean and comfortable. The staff, without exception, were welcoming friendly and very helpful.
Its location made travel to Nevsky Propekt very easy by Metro, and the excellent public transport system made travel to the different sites very easy. Our translator, Irena, was excellent company, and made our week together a delight . The standard of food in bars is very good, and it would be difficult to spend more than $30 on a 3 course meal, other than in a big hotel or fancy restaurant.

You do have to be careful with the water, but there is so much rust in it you wouldn't want to drink it! Large containers of still mineral water are easily purchased. There are major works underway in the city to replace the water supply system.

To conclude, St. Petersburg in June was an excellent place to meet with my Lady. Everything worked without any problems, and our time together was so wonderful that we want to be together permanently. Now I have to meet her family, so I will go to Russia again in 8 weeks.

A simple word of advice. If you make an effort to speak even one or two words of Russian, this will be rewarded by smiles, help and patience. I have become so attached to the place that I start private Russian language tuition next week.

I also like the format used.  When there is more than one photo available then it is shown on the same page.  I do not use the companies that only show one photo because that is not enough to get a feel for who the girl is.

I also like that you list the new girls in the beginning so that I know when and who are new.  

I have hopes to meet Yelena soon.  She is a very sweet and warm girl and
I would never have the opportunity to meet her without your service.
